What she handles without pulling you off the job.

01

Cleanings booked

Routes, frequency and the customer's address, written into a real schedule rather than a note in somebody's phone.

02

Repairs triaged

A pump that's stopped in July is not the same as a light that's out. Your rules decide which gets somebody this week.

03

Build enquiries flagged

A new pool is worth more than a year of cleanings. She recognises one, captures it properly and gets it to you while the caller is still keen.

04

Chemistry questions handled

What you told her to say about a green pool or a reading, and nothing else.

The build call is the one you cannot miss.

A cleaning customer is worth a few hundred a year. Somebody asking about a new pool is worth tens of thousands, and they are shopping — they will call three companies this afternoon.

She recognises the difference, captures the enquiry properly, and can offer to put them straight through to you rather than leaving it as a message you find at six.

The rest of the phone is cleanings and repairs, which she books without pulling you off a route.

Summer is when the phone breaks.

From May to September a pool company's phone does not stop, and it is exactly when everyone is out on routes and nobody is at a desk.

Flat monthly pricing means the busy season does not also become the expensive season, which is what a per-minute service does to a seasonal trade.

Common questions

The things owners ask us.

Can it tell a build enquiry from a cleaning?

Yes, and it's set up to treat them completely differently. A cleaning gets booked. A build gets captured in full, emailed to you straight away, and the caller can be offered a live transfer.

That's the call worth fifty cleanings, and it's usually the one that goes to voicemail.

Will it answer chemistry questions?

Only what you told it to say. General guidance on a green pool or a reading is fine if you write it; anything beyond that becomes a service call rather than advice it made up.

Does it work for seasonal closures?

Yes, and you can move down a plan in the off-season and back up in April. There's no contract holding you to a size that stopped fitting.

Most companies stay on, because the winter calls are next summer's contracts.

How much does an answering service for a pool company cost?

From $89 a month for about 40 calls up to $850 for about 800. Most companies land at $300, roughly 200 calls, flat with no per-call charge.

The next call is already on its way.

Half an hour is enough to know whether she'd work for you.
