Bilingual answering service

A bilingual
answering service,
on one number.

English and Spanish on the same line, with no menu and no transfer. She hears which language a caller opens in and answers in it, and switches mid-sentence if they do.

How it works.

01

No menu

Nothing to press. No 'para español, oprima dos.' The first thing a caller hears is a person answering in their own language.

02

No second queue

Spanish callers aren't transferred to a smaller team with a longer hold. It's the same receptionist, instantly.

03

Switches mid-call

Plenty of callers start in one language and move to the other. So does she, without restarting the conversation.

04

Written up the same

The booking, the summary and the text you get read identically whichever language the call happened in.

A menu is where Spanish-speaking callers hang up.

The standard fix is a phone tree — press two for Spanish — and it costs you callers, because it announces that Spanish is the afterthought before anybody has said a word.

The other standard fix is a bilingual queue at a call centre, which means a longer hold for exactly the callers you were trying to serve better.

Neither is what a caller wants. What they want is for the phone to be answered by somebody who speaks their language, immediately, the way it happens for everyone else.

In South Texas this is most of the phone.

Bexar County is about two thirds Hispanic. Val Verde is around eighty per cent. In the trades those numbers understate it, because the crews and the customers overlap.

So this isn't a feature on a list for businesses here. A shop that handles Spanish badly is losing half its calls to the shop down the road that doesn't, and it has no record of it happening.

It's included on every plan, from $89. There's no bilingual surcharge, which is worth checking against whoever you're comparing us to.

What it costs

Included on every plan, from $89 a month.

There is no tier where this is switched off. The only thing that changes between plans is how much phone you have.

  • Starter · 100 min, ~40 calls $89 /mo
  • Small · 250 min, ~100 calls $175 /mo
  • Standard · 500 min, ~200 calls $300 /mo
  • Busy · 1,000 min, ~400 calls $500 /mo
  • High Volume · 2,000 min, ~800 calls $850 /mo

Common questions

The things people ask.

Is there an extra charge for Spanish?

No. It's included on every plan including the $89 one. There's no per-call surcharge and no separate Spanish line to pay for.

Worth checking that against other services — a per-call add-on for Spanish is common.

Does the caller have to press anything?

No. There's no menu at all. She hears which language they've opened in and answers in that one.

What if someone switches mid-call?

She switches too, without restarting. Plenty of bilingual callers move between languages in a single sentence and it doesn't throw her.

Is the Spanish actually good?

Call 210-794-7310 and open in Spanish. That's the honest answer and it's the only one worth anything.

She isn't reading a translated English script — she answers natively in both.

What other languages do you support?

English and Spanish are what we build and test for, because that's what this market is. If you need another one, ask on the call and we'll tell you honestly whether we'd do a good job of it rather than saying yes.

The next call is already on its way.

Half an hour is enough to know whether she'd work for you.
